How to Draw a Voodoo Doll – let’s Get Initiated!

Step 1

In this guide on drawing a voodoo doll, we will draw a stylized and cute doll! To begin with, we’ll start with the doll’s head. To do this, we will draw a round shape that is almost a circle. Once you’ve drawn that, we’ll add a line down the face’s center. It will bend a bit to show the contours of the head, as shown in the reference image.

Once you’ve drawn that, we’ll finish this step by adding some thick hair to the top of the head. These will look more like blades of grass and can be drawn with curved lines that culminate in sharp points.

Step 2

Now that you have the outline of the head, we will add some facial details to your voodoo doll drawing. First, we will draw the doll’s eyes. These eyes will be drawn as large buttons sewn onto the face. Draw some large round circular shapes with curved edges on the sides to draw them. Next, we will draw four small circles on each of these eyes.

Next, draw a wavy line for the mouth and add small vertical lines to make some seams. Then add some horizontal lines similar to the line you drew in the center of the face earlier. Finally, we’ll draw some big straight lines from the face to make some big pins going into the head.

Step 3

This little guy needs a body, so we’ll start drawing one in this step of our guide on how to draw a voodoo doll. To do this, extend some curved lines down from the head that sticks out towards the belly. You can do the same with the back and add another center line that follows the body’s contours, just like you did with the head.

Step 4

Moving on, we’ll add some arms and stitching details to this part of your voodoo doll drawing. For the arms, add some thick, rounded lines from the base of the head and back into the body. Then add a circular shape to the end of the arm, as shown in the reference image.

Then add one of those stitch lines on each arm, just as you have done on other areas of the body and head. You can finish this step by adding another one of these stitch lines horizontally across the belly. Once you’ve drawn these details, you’ll move on to the final details in the next part.

Step 5

This step of our guide on drawing a voodoo doll will be about finishing with the final details and elements. The main aspect of this step will be finishing the legs. These will look very similar to the arms and have the same rounded look that these had. They will also have circular shapes at the base of the lower legs and some sewing details.

Then there will only be a few minor line details to add along the wrist, and you’re ready to move on to the final step! Before doing this, you can add some details, such as a background with other accompanying objects. What kind of weird and wonderful objects do you think would go well with this amazing voodoo doll?

Step 6

You have now reached the final step of your voodoo doll drawing, and in this one, you will finish it with some color. In our reference image, we use some more muted colors. The browns we used for the body, and head give the doll the appearance of being made of burlap or a similar material.

We then used some shady gray and purple for the control eyes. , and then finish with some dark red for the hair. These are just a few amazing colors you could use, but they are far from the only ones to choose from! This is a step where you can express your creativity. , so make sure you use all the colors you like while bringing this drawing to life.
