Traffic

Traffic starts with telling people about your blog. There are several ways to do this. I’ll list a few of them below and cover ‘how’ to do this later on. For now, this should give you some ideas to get started.

Word of mouth- obvious, but still very effective

Email- letting friends and family know will start the buzz

Articles- writing and submitting articles gets the news out and gives you backlinks for your search engine rankings

MySpace- authority site that has your sphere of influence as well

Squidoo- another authority site that search engines love

FaceBook- great way to get visitors from people that know you

Google- by using keywords people search for google will list you for free

Adwords- if you’re selling anything on your blog you can pay per click for visitors using google’s adwords

Yahoo- similar to adwords, but using Yahoo’s ppc platform

Forums- by posting good content on other forums or answering questions, you can leave a link in your signature that will attract visitors

Blogs- other related blogs are another great way to get quality, targeted traffic by posting your comments
